How do I participate in the Virtual Gala?

Click on the YouTube Live Stream button under the “Raising Hope” tab. The gala program will start promptly at 6:00 p.m., and a virtual reception will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow everyone time to tune in to the live stream, grab a drink and get comfortable!  

Tip: If possible, use two separate screens, one to watch the live stream and one to bid on silent auction items. For example, you can watch the YouTube Live Stream from your desktop computer or Smart TV and do your online bidding on your Smartphone or tablet.

Should I get dressed up?

That is totally up to you! You will not appear anywhere on the screen, as the show is a YouTube Live Stream. So feel free to show up in your favorite lounge wear, or use this as an excuse to break out your evening gowns and suits!

How do I register for online bidding?

On Wednesday, February 17, the online bidding site will open to start registering and previewing auction packages. You will receive a notification to be reminded to register. To register you will:

• Go to the “Online Auction” tab above
• Click the link: https://hillsidesgala2021.ggo.bid   
• Click the “Get Started” button on the right
• Click the green “Create Account” button
• Enter your email address (twice), check the “I’m not a robot” box, and click “Confirm”
• Check your inbox for a verification email (check your junk/spam folder if you did not receive it)
• Verify payment method, billing address, email address, and mobile number
• Click the “Create” button to complete your account

Once you are registered for the event you will start to get email and text message updates about the online auction.

How do I bid on auction packages?

• Search for packages by name or by choosing a category under the drop down menu.
• You can bid the next increment or “Bid More” than the next increment. If you choose “Bid More” you can set your maximum bid. If your maximum bid is the highest, the system will automatically bid in your favor until you are outbid or the auction closes.
• To “watch” a package, select the star icon on the package.
• You will be notified by text and/or email if you are outbid at any point before the auction closes and will see an “Outbid” notice at the top of the screen.
• To get back to the main screen, click the home button at the top.
• To view the packages you have bid on, click the menu button and select “Bids”.

If I win an online auction package, how will I receive it?

Winning bidders will be able to pick up their auction item(s) at Hillsides Advancement Office in Pasadena, California beginning Monday, March 1 through Friday, March 12. Office hours are open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If for some reason you are unable to pick up your items(s), please contact Hillsides Advancement Office at 323.543.2800 to make arrangements to have them mailed at your expense. Unfortunately, we cannot ship items outside of the US.
